Sydney Airport ID and Access Services

All persons on the airport requiring access to security sensitive areas are required, under Government Regulations to have an aviation security identification card.  Access to other airport areas may also require access control permissions or other security identification cards.

All companies requiring access to facilities at Sydney Airport must be registered for the purpose of obtaining Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASIC) or other SACL Security Identification/Access Cards.  This registration form is required to be submitted to ID & Access Services for assessment prior to any identification / access card being processed / issued.

Once your company has been approved by Sydney Airport each of your employees requiring access to security sensitive areas for the purpose of their employment need to complete an Application for an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or other SACL issued Security Identification (ie Terminal) Card.  The time frame to process an application can vary for each applicant depending on the time taken by external agencies involved in background checks.  Time frames vary between 2 to 8 weeks and sometimes can even take longer.  It is therefore essential the forms are submitted to Sydney Airport ID & Access Services as early as possible to ensure your needs are met.

Identification cards are separate to access privileges.  Access will be provided to areas only required by that person to fulfil their employment duties.  Access may be suspended or cancelled for breaches or misconduct.

All identification cards are subject to the terms & conditions of issue and use under which they are issued. ASIC cards require extensive background checks and the applicant must undertake and pass a computer based security awareness test prior to issue.  This test is based on the Sydney Airport Conditions of Use and the Airport Security Guide.

All required forms are available from ID & Access Services, located at the Southern End of T1 International Terminal on arrivals level, near the C & D arrivals exits.  Opening hours are between 7.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.  After hours, visitor passes are available from the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) located on Level 3, Northern End of T1 International Terminal.
