Final designs unveiled for Sydney Airport-funded community project

The final designs for the new pump track at Sir Joseph Banks Park have been unveiled for Bayside Council's first dedicated pump track.

Supported with more than $1 million from Sydney Airport's joint community fund with Bayside Council, the pump track design features tracks to suit different ages, riding abilities, confidence levels and skill sets.

A track for everyone

The final design features four interconnected riding zones, allowing users to progress as their confidence and skills grow:

  • Beginner Track – a fun and safe place to learn the basics.
  • Intermediate Track – for riders ready to build confidence.
  • Advanced Track – technical and extreme challenges for experienced riders looking to progress.

The tracks connect seamlessly, creating one integrated riding experience while encouraging progression, active recreation and skill development.

The design also includes landscaping and seating areas, improved pathways and accessibility and spaces that encourage social connection and healthy outdoor activity.

Together, these features will transform the area into a vibrant community destination for recreation, learning and fun.

Designed with the community in mind

The pump track builds on feedback from local young people, riders and families, helping shape a facility that reflects how the community wants to use the space.

More than 130 design submissions were received during earlier engagement activities and helped inform the concept design.

Construction on the pump track is due to begin later this year and should be completed by mid-next year.

More than just a pump track

Located within Sir Joseph Banks Park, the facility will create a vibrant community space where people can get active, develop new skills and enjoy the outdoors.

The pump track will become a destination for local families and riders while complementing the park's existing recreational facilities.
