A better journey for passengers
Passengers travelling around Sydney Airport can enjoy a quieter and more comfortable ride, with the introduction of 50 new electric buses across landside and airside operations.
The new fleet will progressively replace older diesel vehicles used to transport passengers and staff throughout the airport precinct. As part of the upgrade, buses and bus stops will feature live travel information, helping passengers see estimated wait times and journey times at a glance.
This will make it easier for travellers to move between terminals, parking areas and other parts of the airport.
Sydney Airport Group Executive Government Relations, Sustainability and Legal, Karen Tompkins said:
“The new fleet meets the airport's commitment to Net Zero for Scope 1 and 2 by 2030, while celebrating the cultural significance of the lands on which it operates.”
“The 50 new electric buses reduce our scope 1 emissions from our operations, with the bus being powered by 100 percent renewable through our power purchase agreement. Importantly, they also improve the passenger experience by providing quieter, cleaner and more comfortable transport across the airport precinct.”
